Dr. Moore-Kucera will teach courses in soil science and soil and environmental microbiology, and lead a research program. Her approach to research is interdisciplinary, combining traditional and novel techniques in soil science, microbial ecology, and biogeochemistry.  Research interests center on microbial transformations of soil C and N as impacted by management decisions and potential feedbacks on plant growth, productivity and air and water quality.

Research Interests:
Nitrogen cycling in integrated cropping systems
Impact of fire on soil microbial communities and functions
Greenhouse gas emissions in agricultural and grassland systems
Soil microbes in dust
